DIACOV 1000 Fabric is ideal for covering scale model aircraft, from small to large sizes and its very easy to apply. It is a translucent white polyester fabric with high tear resistance and temperature stability. It is approved by professional model makers and can be easily ironed onto any surface. It substantially reinforces all structures to which it is applied without stretching too much.
Edges or other three-dimensional contours can be covered without problems. DIACOV 1000 is heated with an iron and can then be pulled into shape.
You can paint directly on it with many paint products that have good elasticity and UV resistance. Brittle hardening varnishes should be avoided on fabrics as the may tend to crack and flake with flexing and movement.
DIACOV has the same heat shrink capacity in wrap and weft direction. The shrinkage behaviour can be very sensitively controlled by the temperature of the iron or hot-air gun.
Heat sealing from 100°-120C on all types of substrate (wood, fabric, paint, foam, aluminium, etc.), easy to apply, waterproof, and with good U.V resistance after painting. Very powerful bonding, no separation in the sun.
The YOU Tube video below (although in French) shows a version of Diacov being used that requires its own adhesive to be pre -applied much like the Cover Grip and Koverall combination. However it also give a good demonstration as to how the covering behaves when it is shrunk using covering iron (so thought it was worth including).
